It didn't take long. Although the original data, and papers, have been
around in the literature for some time, once a headline is allowed out
to the public, the "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"
statements begin. This is /such/ fun...

[The variation in decay rates is very embarrassing, somewhat like
the implications of the lack of variation in c observerd by Michaelson
and Morley in 1877 for the dearly-embraced ether theory. Whether the
neutrino explanation is the right one, even its authors are skeptical.
Part of the fun is seeing the one argument conflated with the other,
perhaps purposely.]
