The notes look very good.  Some additional points to consider:

        greater emphasis on portability (It's in your notes, but could
        be made more prominent.  You can take Python code with you when
        migrating to a new environment.)
        
        parameter handling in function calls ( default-values *args **kwds )
        Perhaps this is too low level, but I find it invaluable.
        
        are generators and co-routines worth a mention?
