If you're currently enrolled in higher education and don't have a summer job
lined up yet, the application window for Google's Summer of Code has been
extended and the Python Software Foundation is looking for more apps.

In addition to core Python projects, the following groups are participating
under the PSF umbrella:

   - NumPy/SciPy
   - TinyPy
   - Jython
   - PyPy
   - Cython
   - PySoy
   - PyGame
   - DrProject
   - quite a few more..

We've had some good applications so far, but don't be worried about the
competition - PSF gets a large number of student slots every year. There
are also at least three PSF SoC mentors in NH, Seth Lemons (tinyPy), Derek
Rhodes (PySoy), and myself (PySoy). So geographic bias works in your favor
with these projects.

... and hey, $4500 for 12 weeks of work developing some cool stuff with
Python is a damned good deal!
