Yeah, no kidding.

Is there anybody here who understands _why_ linux systems have such a  
hard time syncing up to projectors?

Alternately, if we had a known hardware platform to hook up to  
projectors, are there any good systems for networking the displays?   
The best I can come up with is to hook up a local ethernet cable and  
have folks ready to run X over ssh.  Others like NX are technically  
superior but unlikely to be installed and configured on most folks'  
machines.

Somebody must have a better idea?
