Lloyd,

I found something called iText.
It can read and manipulate PDF files.
It's written in Java.
(You could use JPython I suppose. :-)

(Look for the "HelloWorldMultiple" example on the tutorial page.)

Let me know if this works.

around often enough to have any kind of efficiency.
