Some observations from long time (1995, "Microsoft Secrets", Selby and
Cusumano) Microsoft watcher, Michael Cusumano. He voices his concerns
about managing 50 million lines of source code.
Linux enthusiasts have long noted that the distributed development of
GNU/Linux has forced decoupled, modular designs. These designs allow
for easier testing and incremental upgrades.
